The novel coronavirus has reached most countries, but a few are still without SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. One of them is Yemen, the poorest Arab country in the world, and one wrecked by years of bloody conflict.

“There is no question that we are dealing with an egregious example of the meanest form of racism”, Yemen’s Prime Minister, Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed said. “The coronavirus has spread generously and inclusively across the world, even amongst our closest Arab neighbors, but apparently we’re such a shithole country that even the coronavirus refuses to set foot here”.

“We are currently talking to Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde about the possibility of forcing the coronavirus to go to Yemen”, Foreign Minister, Mohammed al-Hadhrami told The Mideast Beast. “Sweden has decades of experience enforcing diversity and inclusivity and my distinguished Swedish colleague was shocked to hear that the coronavirus – which has been welcomed warmly in Sweden and allowed to roam free there without restrictions – is displaying such negative stereotyping and racism when it comes to including Yemen”.

“We have called upon the coronavirus, which has been allowed to run wild in our territory, to desist from its supremacist, Yemenophobic attitude or we shall have to begin enforcing a lockdown in Sweden, too” Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven told The Mideast Beast.
