With the signing of landmark gun control legislation, the Islamic State has banned all gun sales to individuals with no history of violence, domestic abuse or mental illness.

“While I believe strongly in the right to bear arms, there are certain people who should simply not own a military-grade weapon,” ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi said as he signed the bill into law. “Too often, people are buying guns and then not using them to commit atrocities.”

Baghdadi said that under the previous law, murderers, terrorists, and the criminally insane were all able to buy semi-automatic weapons without going through a background check. But he warned that guns were also falling into the wrong hands.

“If you can pass a background check, then you have no business owning a gun,” he exclaimed.

Despite broad popularity, the bill was strongly opposed by the CRA, the Caliphate Rifle Association. The group warned that the law would only make it harder for terrorists and criminals to defend themselves against innocent civilians.“The only thing that stops a good guy with a gun is a bad guy with a gun,” CRA President Waalid al-Pierre declared.
